Watch! War widows participating in motorcycle Rally from Delhi to Kargil on Kargil Diwas!

An all-women motorcycle expedition to the Kargil War Memorial in Dras was ceremoniously flagged off from Delhi. The 25-member tri-services team, consisting solely of women, embarked on their journey through Haryana, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh, eventually reaching their destination on July 25th.

The "Nari Sashaktikaran Women Motorcycle Rally" was inaugurated by Army Chief General Manoj Pande at the National War Memorial (NWM) in Delhi, as part of India's commemoration of its victory in the Kargil war 24 years ago. The expedition aimed to showcase the indomitable spirit of women and honor the nation's triumph over Pakistan in the 1999 conflict.

Archana Pande, chairperson of the Army Wives Welfare Association, graced the occasion with her presence, adding significance to the event. The 25-member team comprised of two brave "Veer Naris," with one of them being an active-duty officer, along with ten serving women officers from the Indian Army. Additionally, one woman officer each from the Air Force and Navy, three women soldiers from the Army, and eight spouses of armed forces personnel were part of this inspiring journey.
