3 Ways to stop overeating in front of the television

Eating habits always affect our diet. Overeating is a very basic thing to ruin your eating habits. The worse part is eating and watching TV which is a common behavior. Watching favorite shows and indulging in foods all time of the day is harmful. While doing so, we generally lose track of hunger and tend to overeat. To overcome this problem, here are some things that you can do.

Just like any other work, we need to stay alert to the food you are eating and enjoy every bite of it. Multitasking can harm you as you are eating and watching television which will lead to distraction or hurried eating, both of which can make you eat more. The best thing will be to enjoy your meal before grabbing the remote. These simple tricks to watch your food intake.

1. ​Watch your portion size

Avoid sitting with a large bowl of popcorn or wafers as it will definitely end up finishing all of them. Choose a small bowl and take your share in it. Fill your plate only once in the beginning. Take whatever you need and do not fill it for the second time.

2. ​Engage in some other work

Do some other work apart from snacking while watching television. You can paint your nails or try a foot massage to distract and disengage yourself from snacking. 

3. Drink water

Drink a glass of water beforehand you have the urge to eat unhealthy food. We often crave junk foods when we are thirsty. Sipping on cold water can help you overcome this problem.
