West Bengal Congress unit president Somen Mitra passes away

Kolkata: West Bengal Congress state unit president Somen Mitra died late at night. His health was bad for the last several days. Somen Mitra was suffering from various diseases and was also undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Kolkata. However, Somen Mitra died at the age of 78 in the hospital.

Sources in the hospital told the media that Mitra was admitted to the hospital a few days ago due to kidney disease. However, he died due to cardiac arrest. He breathed his last at 1.30 pm on Thursday. At the same time, his corona investigation was also done. Its investigation report came negative. The West Bengal Congress has mourned the death of Somen Mitra. Tweeting from the Twitter handle of the West Bengal Congress, it has been said that, 'WBPCC President Soman Mitra has breathed his last a while ago. Amidst this immense loss, our prayers and thoughts are with the grandfather's family.

A member of Somen Mitra's family has confirmed his death. The family member said that he was admitted to the hospital due to kidney and heart diseases. Let us tell you that senior Congress leader and former Lok Sabha MP Somen Mitra was born on 31 December 1941. He also has a son.
