Kolkata: A sensational case has come to light from West Bengal's Burdwan East. The police arrested the accused husband Taufiq Sheikh and produced him before the Kalna sub-divisional court on Sunday. A case has been registered against the accused husband under Section 498A/307 of the IPC. The shameful incident has come to light from the Bijara area of Bagnapara under the Kalna police station area of East Burdwan. According to the information, the victim of domestic violence already has two daughters. She was being tortured since she had daughters. The victim has alleged that the husband used to torture her by putting an iron rod in her genitals. She has also accused her husband of attempting to kill her. According to information, Sharifa Bibi, a resident of Kalna Nivuji Companydanga area, was married to Taufiq Sheikh of Bagnapara Bijara area of Kalna in 2016. After the birth of two daughters, she was tortured. According to the victim, her husband had been brutally mentally and physically torturing her for several months. Husband Taufiq Shaikh even told her that he would divorce her and marry another girl, who would give birth to a son. After the complaint of torture, the victim's family reached her in-laws' house and admitted her to the Kalna sub-divisional hospital on Saturday. Bhulu Shaikh, the victim's father, said, "After hearing about the brutal torture on his daughter, we somehow rescued her from her in-laws' house and got her admitted to the hospital. A complaint was then lodged at the Kalna police station. On the other hand, the victim's mother-in-law Renuka Shaikh has termed all the allegations as false.
