Whatsapp is offering a new video call option

Corona virus outbreak caused lockdown in many countries of the world. Tech companies are paying a lot of attention to the video conferencing platform in such a situation. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently announced that group calls are being extended in Messenger. Actually, this is a cross platform and now it will be given in WhatsApp too. According to a report by WhatsApp's news tracking website WABetainfo, the Room feature will be launched in WhatsApp soon. Recently Facebook has announced Messenger Room under which 50 people can do video calling simultaneously.

Now this feature is going to come in WhatsApp as well, actually its shortcut has been seen in the beta version of WhatsApp. After this feature, the users will get two video calling options. According to a report by WABetainfo, the Messenger Room option has been given in Android version 2.20.139 of WhatsApp. These shortcuts will be added to the tabs of calls. This can be seen in this screenshot shared by WABetainfo. By clicking on it, this feature is being told in the pop up window. It has been said that the room can be created only through Messenger. Once the room is created, the user can send this link to anyone.

For your information, let us tell you that if you do not have WhatsApp or Messenger to whom you are sending this link, then it will work. A disclaimer has also been given here regarding privacy. It has been said that Rooms are protected with encryption and privacy control of Messenger, but they are not end to end encrypted. Let us know that end to end is considered stronger than the common encryption that is available in WhatsApp calling. According to the report, this feature is still under development. However, the company may soon launch it with the final build, as recently the company has increased the limit of WhatsApp video calls to 8. It is clear that Facebook wants to redeem this lockdown for its business as well.
