Bangalore: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has justified the decision to abolish 4 per cent reservation for the Muslim community in government jobs and educational institutions in Karnataka. He said that we are completely firm on the fact that this decision is completely correct. But this decision should have been implemented a little earlier. Talking to the media, Amit Shah said that our party has abolished 4 percent Muslim reservation, this is true. Giving the reason for this, Amit Shah said that there is no provision of any kind of reservation on the basis of religion in our constitution, the constitution only allows reservation to backward classes on the basis of caste. But, Congress had given this reservation under the policy of appeasement, which has been abolished. According to the report, Amit Shah, who was campaigning for the Karnataka elections, said that we believe that there has been a delay in this decision, but it was the right decision. He said that Siddaramaiah should tell before the end of the election campaign that if he increases the Muslim reservation from 4 to 6 percent, then whose reservation will be cut. Will Congress reduce the reservation of OBC, cut SC or reduce the reservation of Lingayat or Vokkaliga. The Congress should clarify its policy on this even before the election campaign stops. Amit Shah also said that the quota arrangement for the Scheduled Castes (SC) is correct and will continue in the future. He also questioned the Congress's promise to increase the reservation limit in the state to 75 per cent. He said that Siddaramaiah says anything, but he should know the order of the Supreme Court. Amit Shah said that only Tamil Nadu's reservation in the country is more than the limit of 50 per cent. This too was set aside by the apex court after a long debate. Apart from this, the decision of the Supreme Court is applicable in all other states.
