A debt-ridden mother of two children committed suicide by hanging herself from a fan on Tuesday in Army Enclave Phase-1 in Jalandhar, Punjab. The deceased has been identified as Paramjeet Kaur (40). The police have taken the body into custody and kept it in the civil hospital for post-mortem. The mother of the deceased, Raj Rani, resident of Mehtiyana village of Hoshiarpur, informed the police that her daughter was married to Amit Kumar of Jalandhar Cantt 17 years ago. He has two children, one of whom is 15 years old and the other 10 years old. Raj Rani has informed the police that Paramjeet Kaur used to work in Aam Aadmi Clinic. Whereas, husband Amit Kumar used to run a clinic in the village itself. Paramjeet Kaur was worried about her debt for a long time. Due to this he took this step. Sadar police station in-charge Bharat Masih told that Paramjit Kaur committed suicide by hanging herself in her house. After postmortem, the police is going to hand over the body to the family. The police have not yet found any suicide note at the spot. Nor has the family raised any suspicion on anyone. Due to this the police have investigated 174 cases.
