The sets of Luv Ranjan's upcoming movie starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor have been staggered by workers and work stopped amidst the shooting of a song on Tuesday. The workers say they have five months' money to spare. It is reported that the film, which was shot in the Charkop area of Kandivli in October 2021, has been set up by the daily wage workers. These daily wage workers say that they have been in arrears for more than five months. The police were called after seeing the commotion of the workers who arrived on the set. The workers were taken to Aarey police station and later the office bearers of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) also reached there and after understanding the side of the workers, the police sent them back. In this regard, FWICE President BN Tiwari has spoken that wherever the workers' money is left, the labourers themselves are stopping the work. FWICE is going to mediate in this and get the workers' money. It is alleged that Lab Movies had given a contract to Dipankar Das Gupta to set up the sets of this film and had paid him the entire money. Dipankar Das Gupta had outsourced a company for the project, from where two people had entered into an agreement with Dipankar Das Gupta. This company later outsourced it to someone else and Rs 1 crore 22 lakh of the workers were stuck. In this regard, production designer Dipankar Das Gupta has said that, if it was my mistake, would I still be shooting with Luv? In fact, I am on the same Ranbir-Shraddha Kapoor sets. FWICE General Secretary Ashok Dubey has spoken about the fact that this outsourcing business should be closed. Why aren't workers being paid directly by manufacturers? This way of working puts extreme stress on the workers. It's happened before and it will happen again.
