World Cup 2019: The biggest prize money in history for the winning team, India to get this much

After 44 years, the England cricket team's dream of becoming the world champion on Sunday was finally a dramatic one at Lord's. England beat New Zealand in the final of the ICC World Cup 2019 to win the first time world champions and make history. The match was historic in every sense. The World Cup-winning team will receive $40 million (around Rs 28 crore), the biggest prize money in the tournament's history.  The team that will become the champion will also be awarded an 11 kg gold-silver trophy.

The total prize money for the tournament this time is $1 million (Rs 70.12 crore). The runners-up will get $20 million (Rs 14 crore) and the two semi-finalists will get $8 million (Rs 5.60 crore). Team India will get around Rs 5.60 crore. The Prize Money of the World Cup is about Rs 15 crore more than the total prize money of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The total prize money for IPL-12 was Rs 55 crore.
