World Lion Day 2023: PM Modi Applauds Conservation Efforts

New Delhi: World Lion Day 2023 - In commemoration of the 'Global Day of Lions,' Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed on Thursday, "India takes immense pride in harboring the Asiatic Lions throughout recent years."

In a Twitter pronouncement, PM Modi articulated, "The Global Day of Lions furnishes us with a moment to exalt these regal creatures, whose vigor and grandeur enrapture us. India's distinction as the habitat of Asiatic Lions is a source of pride, and there has been a sustained surge in the lion populace over the preceding years."

Furthering his stance, PM Modi articulated, "I extend commendation to all those dedicated to safeguarding the natural habitation of these lions. Let our adoration and preservation of them endure, securing their thriving legacy for posterity."

The annual observance of the Global Day of Lions transpires on the 10th of August, striving to elevate consciousness regarding the waning lion population and the imperative of preservation. Lions are classified as a vulnerable species in accordance with the International Union for Conservation of Nature's (IUCN) Red List.
