New Delhi: Crude steel production in the country declined by 2.8 % to 89.34 lakh tonnes in November. This is the second consecutive month when crude steel production has declined. The World Steel Association (Worldsteel) has given information in this regard in its latest report. Crude steel production was 91.92 lakh tonnes in November last year. According to the global organization, crude steel production in India declined by 3.4% to 908.9 million tonnes in October 2019. The production was 94.08 million tonnes in the same month a year ago. However, the world's largest steel producer China has increased production. According to WorldSteel, China's production in November increased by 4% to 8.03 million tons, compared to 7.72 million tons in the same month a year ago. Members of the World Steel Association have 85% participation in global steel production.
