World's largest cargo plane, the Mriya, destroyed in Ukraine by Russian forces

KIEV: Ukraine's flagman aircraft, the An-225 Mriya, the world's largest freight plane, was destroyed by Russian forces, according to Ukroboronprom, Ukraine's state military company. The plane was shot down by Russian troops near Kiev's Hostomel airport on Sunday, according to Ukroboronprom.

The plane's restoration will cost more than $3 billion and take a long time, according to the report. The An-225 Mriya, which was designed in the 1980s, is the world's longest and heaviest aeroplane. It was capable of hauling up to 640 tonnes of cargo, as per reports.

Ukraine to send delegation for discussions with Russia at Belarus border:- Meanwhile Ukraine and Russia have agreed to hold discussions along the Pripyat river on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border, said President Volodymyr Zelensky. The decision reportedly to hold the talks was made during a phone call between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on Sunday.

According to the Ukrainian Presidential office, "Lukashenko has assumed responsibility for ensuring that all planes, helicopters, and missiles stationed on Belarusian soil remain on the ground during the Ukrainian delegation's visit, talks, and return."
