These days boycotting Liger is trending as some people are accusing Vijay Deverakonda of supporting Bollywood and being overconfident and arrogant. Liger has already been released in the theatre and the movie is struggling in the theatre audience is very disappointed with Vijay’s performance. According to a report, Vijay Deverakonda has decided to slash Rs 6 crore from his total fee in order to make up for the losses incurred by the involved parties. Notably, it was previously reported that Vijay had charged a whopping Rs 35 crore to feature in Liger. The report further added that the budget for the upcoming film has been reduced significantly with both Vijay and Puri letting go of their fees. Vijay may instead take a share of the profit if Jana Gana Mana becomes a success. The film earned a meagre Rs 4.50 crore on its first day at the box office in the Hindi belt. Things worsened as the days went by and Liger could only rake in approx Rs 18.05 crore in its first week. From the second weekend onwards, the film went flat at the ticket windows, emerging as a flop. Liger, which marked his debut in the Hindi film industry, arrived in theatres with much fanfare. Directed by Puri Jagannadh, the sports action drama was looked upon as a litmus test of Vijay’s nationwide popularity. The film marks Vijay's debut in Hindi cinema and Ananya's first multi-lingual film. The film was released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. It is produced by Jagannadh, Charmme Kaur, Karan Johar, and Apoorva Mehta.
