NEW DELHI: On Monday, Xiaomi India revealed a collaboration with Optiemus Electronics Limited (OEL) to produce its audio goods in the country. Through this collaboration, Xiaomi has begun manufacturing at the OEL factory in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, for its first domestically manufactured audio product. With this partnership, the company hopes to boost domestic smartphone value addition by 50% over the following two years. The company said in a statement that the action is the first step in a bigger artificial Internet of Things (AIoT) strategy that will start with the localization of wireless audio equipment. "This partnership marks a major milestone in our efforts to accelerate our localization of products and components to bring out high-quality devices that will be "Made in India" at fair prices.", said Muralikrishnan B, President of Xiaomi India. By omitting smartphones, tablets, and laptops, the business has built the largest consumer AIoT (AI+IoT) platform in the world, with 589 million smart devices connected to it as of December 31, 2022. "We look forward to delivering great value through state-of-the-art infrastructure to manufacture Xiaomi products," stated Nitesh Gupta, Director, OEL. Optiemus Electronics Limited has two state-of-the-art manufacturing units in Noida.
