Smartphone maker Xiaomi spin-off Poco ranked third in November 2020 in India. The company claimed that it sold over 1 million units in the first few days of Flipkart's Big Billion Days sale and around 130K units of its budget segment Poco M2 on the first day of sale. According to the latest Counterpoint Research report, the company boasts of only 5 smartphones in its portfolio, but it seems to have won the hearts of the consumers in a short span in India. In an official statement, Shilpi Jain, Research Analyst, Counterpoint said, “Poco after becoming an independent brand at the beginning of 2020, is gaining momentum in the Indian smartphone market. Its smartphones like Poco C3 and Poco M2 were the main drivers of this growth. Features like a large display, 5000mAh battery and gaming processor at affordable price points made both models lucrative for consumers." The Counterpoint report also suggests that 2 out of the top 3 phones selling online are Poco devices. However, its parent company Xiaomi continues to dominate online sales with Samsung gaining the second spot in Q4 2020. Meanwhile, the prices of Poco M2 and Poco C3 recently dropped to celebrate this milestone in the country. The M2 is now up for grabs at a reduced value of Rs. 9,999 while the C3 can be bought at Rs. 7,499.
