Yoga can make life better for people with abnormal heart rhythm

London: A new study found that yoga may helpful in improving quality of life for those who suffering from abnormal heart rhythm,yoga although helpful for many diseases.But for heart patient it gives them a methide to gain self control over symptoms.The researcher had examined the effects of yoga on survivor with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation.

Maria Wahlstrom(Sophiahemmet University in Sweden)said,"Many patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF) can't live their lives as they want to -- they refuse dinners with friends, concerts and travelling - because they are afraid of an AF episode occurring,"

He added,"AF episodes are accompanied by chest pain, dyspnoea and dizziness,"

Atrial fibrillation is common cardiac rhythm disorder and according to researcher there is no cure fir it yet. Patients feels stress and often worried by it and who suffer with with paroxysmal AF experience episodes generally lasting less 48 hours and stop by themselves.

"We found that patients who did yoga had a better quality of life, lower heart rate and lower blood pressure than patients who did not do yoga. The breathing and movement may have beneficial effects on blood pressure," Wahlstrom stated.

He also said ,"Patients in the yoga group said it felt good to let go of their thoughts and just be inside themselves for awhile,"
