Yogi govt orders 50 lakh compensation to family of Anganwadi employees who died of corona

Lucknow: The Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh has announced a compensation of Rs 50 lakh each to the officers and staff of the Child Development Nutrition Department, anganwadi workers and dependents of mini anganwadi workers and helpers who lost their lives while on corona-related duty.

Director, Child Development Nutrition, Sarika Mohan has written to all district magistrates directing them in this regard. The department has said that so far 11 officers, employees and 72 anganwadi worker helpers of the department have passed away due to corona. Even now, 426 officers, employees and 441 anganwadi workers of the Department are suffering from helper corona. Sarika has asked the district magistrates to provide ex-gratia of Rs.

Sarika Mohan has said that anganwadi workers, mini anganwadi workers and helpers of the department are continuously working as frontline workers under the supervision of the district administration as active members of the monitoring committee constituted to prevent the infection of corona virus or the committee constituted for survey work. Besides, officials and staff of the department are also performing some duty related to prevention of corona virus infection. Due to this, these officers and staff of the Department should also be vaccinated on priority.
