Former Indian pacer Zaheer Khan was hoping to join back the Indian squad as a bowling coach but the payment terms have made him cancel the deal. As per the BCCI officials, Zaheer and BCCI were not mutually agreed on the payments terms hence this deal couldn't be completed. Zaheer has shared the desire to coach the Indian bowlers long back and the BCCI has also shown the interest. But when it comes to terms, Zaheer has asked not to join the team on the full-time basis, on the contrary, he wished for Rs. 4 Crore for a 100 days service in a year. Ultimately BCCI found it an expensive deal hence cancel the term. Head coach Anil Kumble has already approved joining of Zaheer Khan as he wanted some more experienced person to guide the boys and team were also very keen to have Zaheer on the side. Talking about the career figures, he has played 92 Test and 200 ODI matches for the national team taking 311 and 282 wickets respectively in the formats. He has played a superior role in lifting the Delhi Daredevils performance in the IPL season last year. The team needs a bowling coach and the management is in the hunt for the same. Maybe they will be able to find someone rich in experience and the one which will fit payment terms as well.
