Zohra Sehgal did acting with superhero from the last century to the new-age actor

Today is the date of birth of Bollywood's oldest actress Zohra Sehgal. Zohra Sehgal was born on April 27, 1912, in the Rohilla Pathan family in Saharanpur city of UP. Her real name was Sahibzadi Zohra Begum Mumtaz-Ullah Khan. Zohra was not only a great actress but also a good dance choreographer. She died in 2014 at the age of 102.  her father Mumtaz Ullah Khan and Natika Ullah Khan were residents of Rampur in UP. Zohra Sehgal was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Sanwariya' in 2007. In 2010, the Government of India awarded Padma Bhushan to Zohra Sehgal. Actress Zohra Sehgal had choreographed for superhit films like 'Baji', 'CID', 'Awara'.

She was the only person who made a mark by acting with Prithviraj Kapoor, the superstar of the last century, Amitabh Bachchan to new-age actor Ranbir Kapoor. Zohra Sehgal got her first opportunity in the movie in 1982 in James Ivory's Movie. She worked in many British films and TV shows in addition to Bollywood. An Evening with Zohra show was a super hit in Pakistan.

According to media reports, Zohra Sehgal almost lost her eyesight due to glaucoma when she was one year old. She recovered after treatment. Zohra resumed her dancer career with Uday Kumar in 1935. Speaking of Zohra Sehgal's personal life, she married Kameshwar Sehgal, who was 8 years younger. The two met at Uday Shankar's dance academy. In 2012, her daughter Kiran wrote a biography called 'Zohra Sehgal: Fatty'.

Zohra Sehgal was also awarded padma shri in 1998, kalidas samman in 2001, sangeet natak akademi samman in 2004. She was also awarded her fellowship as a life tie achievement award by the Sangeet Natak Akademi. Padma Vibhushan, the country's second-highest civilian honor, was conferred on him in 2010. She suffered a heart attack in the hospital on July 10, 2014, and bid farewell to the world at the age of 102.
