Diogo Jota takes Cristiano Ronaldo 'advice' to end Liverpool drought amid four Jürgen Klopp boosts

It’s been no secret that Liverpool’s form away from home this season has left much to be desired.

Traveling to Leeds United in the Premier League, there was an air of trepidation over the possibility of another disappointing trip on the road for Jürgen Klopp’s side.

But on a Spring evening in Yorkshire, Liverpool finally went against expectations for the right reasons.

A cagey opening 30 minutes saw both teams exchange very few opportunities on goal. Then, up stepped Cody Gakpo.

Capitalizing on a rather fortuitous ricochet, Trent Alexander-Arnold danced past the Leeds defense to tee up the Netherlands international with a tap-in finish.

It was Gakpo’s first goal since the 7-0 hammering over Manchester United more than a month ago.

But one player who had gone much longer without a goal was Diogo Jota. Prior to the trip to Elland Road, Jota had not scored in his previous 32 appearances — a run stretching back to April 10 last season against Manchester City.
