Even Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's mother wants him to play one more match for WWE
Fans have been clamouring for Dwayne Johnson to make a WWE comeback and it turns out even his own family want The Rock to return to the ring.
The wrestling legend turned big screen megastar had been rumoured to face his cousin Roman Reigns – the current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion – at WrestleMania 39 this April when the extravaganza comes to Hollywood, but it doesn’t look like it’ll be happening.
However, another of his cousins Tamina Snuka – a former Women’s Tag Team Champion – admitted his family, and beloved mother Ata Johnson, would love to see him appear in one more match.
‘All of us, including his mama, want him to come back,’ she told Insider. ‘I feel like everybody wants him to return.’
She added that the passion for wrestling and performing ‘is something that you don’t lose,’ explaining ‘It’s what you were made to do, and born to do. Wrestling is a love.’
Tamina is close to Dwayne, who surprised her last summer when he bought her a new home and noted at the time that he wanted to ‘bring a little stability to my cousin’s life for her and her kids’.
Now, the single mum reflected ‘Who freaking does that I could not believe it, I was not expecting that, for sure. But that’s just what he shows — pure, genuine love.’
When it comes to The Rock being back any time soon, the door is open but WWE’s chief content officer Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque played down the idea of seeing The Great One in a ring this April.
