Fast X marks Dwayne Johnson's return to the Fast & Furious series

Fast Furious is on the road towards its end with Fast X, and it seems that the successful saga wants to say goodbye in a huge way that includes all of its stars. The tenth installment of the action franchise hits theaters on May 19, and will feature an unexpected guest appearance.

After several conflicts between Dwayne Johnson and the main protagonist of the saga, Vin Diesel, The Rock swore that he would not return even after starring in his own spinoff in 2019, Hobbs Shaw alongside Jason Statham, who did continue to be part of the story.

But now, The Wrap confirms that the actor is one of the big surprises that the new movie has in store for fans. The outlet reports that Johnson appears in one of the post-credit scenes of the film directed by Louis Letrrier.

It is undoubtedly a real surprise that the star of Black Adam has decided to return, when in 2021 he assured that he had no interest in continuing to participate in the franchise in any way, has he told to CNN

Although the context in which the character of The Rock will appear in this new chapter of the story of Dom and his family has not yet been revealed, his appearance could be highly beneficial for the expansion of the franchise once the main saga reaches its conclusion.

Hobbs Shaw was planned as the beginning of a separate saga within the Fast Furious universe, for which a team would be formed led by the characters of Johnson and Statham, and the additions of Chris Rock and Ryan Reynolds, who appear in the movie, all actors that do very well at the box office, especially Johnson.

There is still no confirmation about future projects related to the Fast Furious universe, but focusing on already established characters like Hobbs and Shaw, with such popular actors behind it, seems the right way to continue generating income with a saga that has established itself as one of the most successful in the history of cinema.

Dwayne Johnson first appeared in the fifth installment, which is directly connected with Fast X, since Jason Momoa’s villain is the son of the mafia leader Hobs and Dom took down in that movie. So, The Rock being part of this film actually makes sense.
