Ronaldo to be seen playing in India, know how?

Portugal's star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo recently tied up with Saudi Arabian club Al-Nasr FC. An annual deal of 20 million euros has been signed between Ronaldo and this club. Due to this agreement, Ronaldo will become the highest earning footballer in history. Ronaldo has tied up with Al-Nassr till the year 2025.

The association of Ronaldo with Al-Nassar is also great news for Asian football. Indian fans of Cristiano Ronaldo can celebrate as the legendary player may visit India with his new club in the coming days.

In fact, Cristiano Ronaldo will now compete in the AFC Champions League (Asia's main competition) due to his signing with Al-Nassar. There are three group stage and one play-off round slot reserved for Saudi Arabia in the 2023-24 AFC Champions League.

The top position from Saudi Arabia has been taken by 2021-22 Saudi Pro League (SPL) champions Al-Hilal. The remaining two berths are reserved for the SPL champion in 2022-23 and the domestic cup champion in 2022-23. Al Fayah has already qualified for the playoff round as the champions of King's Cup 2022-23.

As a result, if Al-Nassr wins the league or the domestic cup, it will gain direct entry into the AFC Champions League. Since Saudi Arabia and India belong to the West region of the AFC, Al-Nasr can face an Indian club in the league stage provided they are placed in the same group. In such a situation, Cristiano Ronaldo can come to India to face the ISL club in one of the two legs of the group stage.

India has a direct group stage slot in the AFC Champions League 2023-24. The slot will be decided through a playoff between the 2021-22 and 2022-23 ISL Winners Shield winners. The Winners Shield of the 2021-22 ISL League was won by Jamshedpur FC. That is, Jamshedpur FC has entered the playoffs.

Ronaldo also participated in the FIFA World Cup 2022 where Portugal's performance was nothing special and his challenge ended in the quarter-finals itself. This tournament was very bad for Ronaldo himself and he was able to score only one goal.
