Tesla tweet investigation reveals Elon Musk's enigmatic tendencies

Elon Musks enigmatic nature and unorthodox strategies are coming to light as key exhibits in a trial centred on one of his most divisive hobbies tweeting.

The 51-year-old billionaire was drawn into a federal courtroom in San Francisco for three days of testimony that provided a glimpse into his frequently enigmatic mind. The trial was centred on a pair of tweets that claimed Musk had secured the funding to take Tesla private in 2018.

During his roughly eight hours on the witness stand, Musk, who now owns the Twitter service that he uses as his megaphone, was frequently a study in contrasts.

Tesla shareholders have filed a class-action lawsuit against the companys CEO after Elon Musk tweeted about a company buyout that never materialised.

Musk came across as impulsive, brash, combative, and contemptuous of anyone who questioned his motives through both his testimony and the supporting documentation. Musk is a game-changing entrepreneur who has drawn comparisons to the late Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple.

Other times, Musk sounded like the astute visionary his supporters laud him to be—an adventurous rebel who, by his own estimates, has raised more than 100 billion from investors.

His management of trailblazing businesses like PayPal in digital payments, Tesla in electric cars, and SpaceX in rocket ships has richly rewarded them.

Because of my stellar track record, it is relatively simple for me to receive investment support, Musk wryly remarked.

But one of the reasons he ended up in court was because of his confidence in his ability to obtain the funds he needs to carry out his plans.

The three-week trial is scheduled to resume on Tuesday and conclude by Friday with jury deliberations.
