On August 20, 2007, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and his wife Maria Shriver announced that Woods would be inducted into the California Hall of Fame.
He was inducted December 5, 2007 at The California Museum for History, Women and the Arts in Sacramento.
In December 2009, Woods was named "Athlete of the Decade" by the Associated Press.
He was named Associated Press Male Athlete of the Year a record-tying four times, and is one of only two people to be named Sports Illustrated's Sportsman of the Year more than once.
