Social activist Swami Agnivesh has allegedly beaten up the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) and ABVP activists. They also tore down the clothes of Swami Agnivesh. Swami Agnivesh reached Jharkhand to join a program organized in LTTPARA on Tuesday. 

Agnivesh said that as soon as the program came out of the venue, the Yuva Morcha and ABVP activists attacked. They accused Agnivesh of speaking against the Hindus. Agnivesh said, "I thought Jharkhand was a peaceful state, but after this incident, my views have changed." It can be seen in the video of the incident that Swami Agnivesh was assaulted and his clothes were also torn. Hindu organizations had opposed Swami Agnivesh's visit and when Swami Agnivesh came in front of them, then he was attacked. 

On this, he recently gave a statement as on ANI, "Those arrested were allowed to walk free after few hours, this seems to be a drama. Inquiry ordered by DIG also seems fake. I demand an inquiry by a retired or sitting judge of Ranchi HC. This was an attempt to murder, I could've been murdered. This was pre-planned:"

During the incident, the crowd is watching Agnivesh and his supporters being thrashed. Superintendent of Police Shailendra Prasad Baranwal said that there was no information from Agnivesh's program in the district earlier. Ashok Kumar Singh, a sub-divisional police officer of Paakud said that strict action will be taken against the culprits.
