Prime Minister Narendra Modi is addressing a youth conference in Tumakaru, Karnataka speaking on “Youth Power: A Vision for New India”. PM Modi is addressing students via video conferencing which is a part of Silver Jubilee Celebrations of Ramakrishna Vivekananda Ashram and Sister Nivedita’s 150th birth anniversary.
Speaking at the event, PM Modi emphasised on the role of youth and a lot can be learned from them. He said, “Vidyarthi Devo Bhava” is his government’s mantra and asked to add, with youth’s permission, “Yuva Shakti Devo Bhava” to it.
“There is always something to learn from the conversations with the young generation. Therefore, I always try to meet youth more & more, to talk to them, to listen to their experiences & to work according to their hopes & aspirations,” said PM Modi.
PM Modi also talked about north-east election results declared on Saturday where BJP registered an unprecedented victory. He said that this is the first time the whole nation has paid heed to the north-east election verdict which, according to him, is a huge change as north-eastern states are usually lop-sided by Indians.
“A day after Holi, the results of North-east elections again created an environment of festival. You must think why I am discussing it here. I'm not seeing it as victory and defeat of political parties, significant is that entire nation was involved in North-east's celebrations,” said PM Modi.
“It happened for the first time that people in other states of the country opened their television set early morning to know the mandate of the North-East public. This is a huge change,” he added.
Modi spoke about the need for ‘innovation’ for a better future and announced the plan to set up 2400 “Atal Tinkering Labs” across India.
“Innovation is the base of better future. To convert ideas of school students into innovation, the government has introduced Atal Innovation Mission. More than 2,400 Atal Tinkering Labs have been approved across the country,” said PM Modi.
