Another dent in Didi's camp, one TMC MLA and 13 Parshad, will be the BJP

Kolkata: In West Bengal, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is engaged in further strengthening its mass base. Sources said that the BJP is likely to have a Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA and 13 councillors on Monday. Though it is not yet clear who is the MLA to join, the suppuration at the BJP headquarters has intensified.

Earlier on May 28, three TMC MLAs from West Bengal joined the BJP. This includes Mukul Roy's son Shubhranshu Rai, who came from the TMC to the BJP. After a spectacular performance in the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP is gearing up to further strengthen its position in the state. Shubhanshu Rai was suspended from the TMC over anti-party activities after the results of the Lok Sabha elections were announced.

Other MLAs joining the party include Tusharkranti Bhattacharya of TMC and Devendra Nath Rai of the Communist Party of India (MARXI). In addition, more than 50 councillors have joined the BJP. Mukul Roy is seen as a key role in putting a dent in the TMC. Political observers believe that Mukul Roy has been one of the main architects in the BJP's best performance in West Bengal.
