Kolkata: A woman councilor of Trinamool Congress (TMC) committed suicide by jumping ahead of a train in the year 2020. When the police tried to find out the reason behind the incident, it came to know that the woman councilor was cheated by her own personal assistant. He had also withdrawn money from the councilor's bank account. This case is of Shrirampur in Hooghly. The police has arrested the accused after a year.

After the incident, Sevadaphuli GRP police investigated. It was revealed in this that his personal assistant was responsible for forcing Rama Nath, the councilor of ward number 16 of Shrirampur area, to commit suicide. He is also a Trinamool leader from another area, his name has been described as Vijay Sah. The GRP started laying a trap to catch him, but he hid by train from Shrirampur to Uttar Pradesh. For 1 year, GRP kept trying to arrest him.

The special team of GRP arrested the accused under the leadership of OC Gopal Ganguly from Bashpota area of ​​Uttar Pradesh. Brought back to Shrirampur in 3 days transit remand. Gopal Ganguly, OC of Sevdaphuli GRP said that a case has been registered against the accused under section 306 of IPC.
