At least 10 heat stroke cases are being reported in government hospitals every day in Hyderabad. Reportedly, in the state-run Gandhi hospital and Osmania general hospitals, at least 10 cases are reported while private hospitals report up to four cases every day.

According to Dr. Sudarshan Reddy, General Physician at Continental Hospitals, one or two cases of heat illness have been reporting every day. "Most of the patients were suffering from headache, dehydration and high fever," the doctor said.

Although most cases are not critical in nature and usually have dehydration, headache, and high-grade fever. He added, Paracetamol, IV fluids depending on the condition of individual patients are used to treat them. Meanwhile, several research treatments studies have shown any rise in temperature above 37 degree Celsius, the chances of heat stroke and related-illnesses increases.

According to the National Crime Records Bureau, between 2010- 2015, 7686 people lost their lives due to heatstrokes. Keeping this in mind, the officials of the Health Department have requested the people not to venture out of their houses unless there was an emergency work. They also advised the people to protect themselves from falling victims of sunstroke.

Doctors also suggest that dehydration could be a result of overexposure to the sun, not drinking enough water which can result in dehydration.
