100kg gold and Rs.10 crore cash seized in the income tax department's raid

The Income Tax Department seized 100 kg of gold and cash of Rs 10 crore during the 36-hour check-up from five bases of Kanhaiya Lal Rastogi and Sanjay Rastogi of Rastogi Bandhu, Raja Bazar resident of Lucknow. The price of gold is estimated at Rs 31 crore.

Not only this, the disclosure of extortion of 'Rastogi Bandhu' was more than 60 crores in the sale of ancestral usury business. While the purchase of crores of rupees of Anonymous land was also done, whose documents are in the hands of income tax.

According to Income Tax Department spokesman and deputy commissioner (investigation) Jaynath Verma, cash of 8.08 crores and 87 kg gold biscuit and two kg of gold ornaments were recovered from Kanhaiya Lal Rastogi and son's house. It was certified gold biscuit hallmark, whose gold's purity was 99.9 per cent. While Rs 1.13 crore and 11.64 kg gold was recovered from the house of Sanjay Rastogi.

Of this, Rs 8 crore Kanhaiya Lal Rastogi and 1.05 crore rupees were seized by Sanjay Rastogi. Whereas, the 'Rastogi Bandhu' gold was seized full of which the value was estimated to be around 31 crores. Here is the list of the seizure:

1. Kanhaiya Lal Rastogi - 87 kg gold biscuit, 0.2 kg gold ornaments, 8 crores cash

2. Sanjay Rastogi - 11.64 kg gold, 1.05 crores cash
