Aizawl: This is the fourth consecutive day since September 7 that Mizoram reported over 1,000 COVID-19 cases in a single day, according to the health department. Mizoram on Friday recorded an infection rate of 10.77 per cent of 1,055 new COVID-19 cases, taking the state's tally to 69,026. The state reported one more COVID-19 death in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 231. Fresh cases were reported from various districts of Mizoram, with Aizawl reporting the highest number of 570 cases, followed by Lavangtalai at 115 and Kolasib with 96.

The number of COVID-19 active cases now stands at 12,440 and 56,355 people, including 917 on Thursday, have recovered from the infection. The recovery rate in COVID-19 patients is 81.64 percent and the mortality rate is 0.33 percent. According to State Immunization Officer Dr. Laljavmi, more than 6.62 lakh people have been vaccinated, out of which 2.87 lakh people have received the full dose till Thursday.

While 54 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in Sikkim, Sikkim recorded a slight decline in new COVID-19 cases as 54 new infections were detected in the last 24 hours, reaching 30,384 . Out of 54 new cases, East Sikkim district reported 22 cases, followed by West Sikkim with 20, South Sikkim 9 and North Sikkim district 3. Sikkim now has 862 active COVID-19 cases, while 295 patients have migrated to other states. The COVID-19 death toll in the state remains at 376. No fresh death has been reported in the last 24 hours. Sikkim has a COVID-19 positivity rate of 7.3 percent and a recovery rate of 95.9 percent. The state has so far tested 2,36,294 samples including 738 samples in the last 24 hours.
