Kolkata: CM Mamata Banerjee has announced that the West Bengal State Board class 10th and class XII examinations have been cancelled. In West Bengal, more than 12 lakh students had to appear for secondary and 8.5 lakh students in higher secondary examinations this year. Several state governments have announced cancellation of 12th board examinations after CBSE cancelled the 12th board examinations.
In view of the second wave of corona epidemic, the Central Government has decided to cancel the 12th standard board examination of CBSE on June 1. The decision was taken after an important meeting led by PM Narendra Modi. PM Modi said the decision has been taken keeping in mind the interests of the students. PM Modi said, "The health and safety of students is of paramount importance and no compromise can be reached."
State that a Committee has been constituted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for evaluation and criteria of board examinees of Class XII. Exam controller Samarth Bhardwaj said the CBSE committee will submit a report on the evaluation criteria of class XII students within 10 days.
