With Shah Rukh Khan's stardom spending more than 25 years in the Bollywood film industry and his work done, everyone in the country is well-known, but even in a foreign country, Shah Rukh's status is rare. Actor Shah Rukh is to be honoured with the Excellence in Cinema Award at Melbourne's 10th Indian Film Festival on August 8.  Shah Rukh will be rewarded by Linda Dessau. She is also the first woman to be sworn in as Victoria's 29th Governor.

The ceremony will be held at the Palace Theatre here. More importantly, Shah Rukh is also the chief guest of the ceremony. The theme of the event is Courage in 2019. The award will honour actor Shah Rukh's contribution to Indian cinema. "I am humbled and grateful for this honour," says Shah Rukh, who has been entertaining people with films like 'Deewana' to 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge' since the '90s. "Sharing the stage and podium with all my colleagues and industry members coming from different parts of India to celebrate cinema in Melbourne will be a great experience."

At the same time, the actor further stated, "In the glorious evening planned by the IFFM, I look forward to meeting Hon'ble Linda Dessau." Legion D'Hoonur has also been awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Bedfordshire, the University of Edinburgh, the Maulana Azad National Urdu University and the Law University in the United Kingdom.
