Islamabad: In Pakistan, 11 people died alone in Punjab province in a scuffle for flour during Ramzan. These people had gone to collect the free flour being distributed by the government. These deaths took place on different days and in different places. Women are also included among the dead. When there was an uproar over flour in Pakistan, at the same time, Namaz was being offered at Times Square in America. Sandwiches and pizza were being distributed in this programme.

The first case being told is that of Pakistan, where the shortage of flour has taken a fatal form. The news says that 11 people have lost their lives in the Punjab province alone in the pursuit of getting free flour. Women are also included among the dead. Along with the 11 deaths, 60 Pakistanis have been injured. This fighting has happened especially in Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Muzaffargarh, and Okara districts of southern Punjab. Along with this, the news of violent incidents involving the snatching of flour has also come to the fore in Faisalabad, Jehaniya, and Multan.

It is also being said that in many places, the police had to resort to lathi charges to bring the situation under control. The police have accused the flour distribution centres of not having the necessary arrangements. Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, while expressing his displeasure over the disorder in the free flour centres, has also issued an order to repair it. On Wednesday, March 29, 2023, CM Naqvi also gave instructions to open free flour centres at 6 a.m.
