Chandigarh: Fifty more people have lost their lives on Sunday due to Corona infection in Punjab, while the total figure of Corona infected in the state has increased to 41,779 with 1136 new cases reported. In a medical bulletin issued by the state government, it has been said that 1,086 people have died due to corona infection so far in the state.
According to the health department, 19 people died in Patiala, nine in Ludhiana, seven in Jalandhar and 6 in Gurdaspur on Sunday. In the Bulletin, it has been said that besides 2-2 people in Ferozepur and Hoshiarpur districts, 1 people in Fazilka, Kapurthala, Muktsar, Sangrur and Taran Taran each lost their lives from Corona. This is the second-highest number of deaths in one day due to corona infection, before this, on August 17, the state had the highest number of deaths in 51 days.
The department further said that the districts where new cases have come up include Ludhiana (242), Patiala (188), Jalandhar (107), Amritsar (68), Moga (60), Kapurthala (58), Sangrur (51) and Hoshiarpur (51) is included. It has been said that a total of 2,226 patients of corona infection have recovered from coronavirus. According to the bulletin released, 26,528 infected people have become healthy in Punjab so far. Accordingly, 14,165 infected people are being treated in the state. It has been said that 46 patients are on a ventilator while 374 are on oxygen support.
