Karnataka: 182 people test positive for Covid-19 in SDM medical college

Bangalore: Official sources claimed on Friday that 116 persons from SDM College of Medical Sciences and Hospital in Dharwad, Karnataka, had been infected with corona, the majority of whom were students. With so many new instances appearing, the number of persons infected with the coronavirus at the institution has now risen to 182.

On Thursday, the institute's two dorms were sealed after 66 medical students were discovered to be infected with corona. According to official sources, 690 persons have been tested thus far, including students, employees, and main contacts. According to Dharwad deputy commissioner Nitesh Patil, the virus might spread owing to a student event a week ago. Parents of several of the youngsters were also present for the occasion. As a result, they've all been invited to do corona tests. All affected persons have been confined.He said people found infected were vaccinated, with very minor symptoms.

In Tamil Nadu, the total number of infected people rose to 27,23,245 with 739 new cases of coronavirus reported on Thursday, while the death toll from the infection reached 36,432 with 17 more patients dying. Karnataka on Thursday registered 306 new cases of coronavirus while Telangana recorded 147 new cases.
