Terror continues in Afghanistan, 119 killed in just two days

Kabul: The level of violence continues to remain high despite efforts to revive the stalled peace process in Afghanistan. A total of 119 people have died in clashes and security incidents in just two days (June 3-4). An official has given information in this regard. Tolo News quoted an official on Sunday as saying that 196 security personnel were also injured.

According to the official, 54 people were killed on June 3, while 65 died the next day. Out of 119 dead, 102 were members of security forces. Meanwhile, Defence Ministry data said that 183 Taliban militants were killed in Afghan defensive operations in eight provinces on June 3, and 181 terrorists were killed in six provinces on June 4. However, the Taliban has rejected the figures. According to the country's Independent Human Rights Commission, more than 2,950 civilians were killed and more than 5,540 injured due to conflict last year.

According to independent Human Rights Commission data, 330 women and 565 children were killed out of the total casualties in various attacks last year. Earlier, at least two people were killed and 18 others injured in a car bomb blast at the district police station in Afghanistan's northern province of Balkh. This information was received quoting sources. According to media reports, the incident took place at Balkh district police station police station, northwest of the provincial capital Mazar-e-Sharif on Sunday.
