12-year-old wrestler shot dead by coach for leaving academy

Haryana: A recent case of crime has shocked everyone. The case that has come up recently belongs to Sonepat. A 12-year-old boy was shot dead by a wrestling coach in this case. The incident took place at Paldi Kalan village of Rai in Sonepat district of Haryana. Police are investigating the case.

The deceased was sleeping on the roof with his elder sister when the coach killed him. The accused was identified as Som Prakash Bhardwaj, who worked as a wrestling coach. Police have registered a case against the accused under sections of the Indian Penal Code and the case under the Arms Act has also been registered at Ranchi Police Station for possessing arms.

The deceased was the youngest of three siblings in the family and had been learning wrestling with the same coach since February last year. According to sources, in the first week of June, the deceased came home and said that he would not return to Dadri. Preliminary investigation by the police revealed that the brother of the deceased had some dispute with Bhardwaj and brought his brother home.

On Sunday, in an unsuccessful attempt, Bhardwaj went to the family's house and tried to convince the family to send the deceased back to Dadri for his wrestling training. Meanwhile, late Sunday night, the coach again visited the family and went to the terrace where the minor was sleeping with his sister. He shot him closely and escaped from the spot. However, further investigation is on in the case.
