New Delhi: Be prepared to fill e-challans for vehicles not yet getting pollution checked in the national capital. The Delhi Transport Department is preparing to send e-challans to people sitting at home after the notice from next week. Not only this but an e-court is also being set up to fill the challan. If all goes well, the process of setting up the e-court will be completed this week, after which the e-challan will be issued.

There are now more than 13 lakh vehicles in the capital, that have not got their vehicles tested for pollution. Identifying such vehicles, the transport department is sending notices to some people every day. Around 200 to 250 notices are being sent every day. So far, more than 2,350 vehicle owners have been served notices. Within seven days of the notice being issued or received, if the vehicle owner did not conduct a pollution check on the vehicle, then they will be issued an e-challan. This e-challan of Rs 10,000 can be filled through the e-courts being created by the transport department.

According to sources, the process of notice has already been initiated 10 days in advance. However, vehicles are not being challaned yet. The reason for this is that the final seal on the construction of the e-court has not yet been obtained. There will be a meeting this week, in which the formation of the e-court may be discussed and approved. Only after that e-challans will be issued. It is said that 150 to 200 challans will be issued in a day.
