A 13-year-old minor attacked his brother-in-law with a sword for fighting with his mother on Monday in Pahadishareef. According to sub-Inspector G. Puri Jagannath, the minor was agitated by the constant fights, the boy took an impulsive step and attacked his brother-in-law Md. Azher, 25 with a sword.

Azher married Hafiza, daughter of Naseema Begum, mother of the minor a year ago but Azher left her within a month due to issues between the couple. Azher would drop by at Naseema’s house near Pahadishareef dargah and demand that Hafiza return with him, to which Naseema did not agree. On Sunday evening, when Azher came back with the same demand, the minor lost his patience and attacked him with a sword. Azher received injury on his right ear due to the attack.

Police registered the case against the minor in the Pahadishareef police station and the minor who is a Child in Conflict with Law did it to protect his mother from the constant harassment his mother faced from Azher.

Police will look after this matter as it involves a minor as the accused. Police will investigate the whole matter and then they will proceed for further formalities.
