Agartala: The havoc of the second wave of corona may have slowed down now, but new variants of corona are creating fear in the country. Meanwhile, Tripura had claimed that 138 cases of Delta Plus variant have been registered in the state, which has been rejected by the Government of India. The Union Health Ministry has said that there is not a single case of delta plus variant in Tripura.

The Tripura government had said that 138 cases of Delta Plus variant have been found in the state, but the Government of India has said that there is not a single case of Delta Plus variant in Tripura. Doctors in the state had quoted a report by the National Institute in West Bengal on Friday saying that 138 cases of Delta Plus variant have been found in Tripura. But a statement from the Health Ministry said that 152 samples from Tripura were sent to the National Institute of Biomedical Genomics in West Bengal for genome sequencing (WGS), in which not a single case of delta plus variant has been reported.

The Union Health Ministry informed on Sunday that not a single case of delta plus variant of the virus has been reported in the covid-19 samples that have been genome-sequenced in Tripura so far.
