Shri Ram Nath Kovind is the 14th and current President of India turns 73 today. He is in office since 25 July 2017. Previously he had served as the Governor of Bihar from 2015 to 2017 and was a Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha from 1994 to 2006. On his special day prime minister Narendra Modi took his official Twitter handle and greeted the nation’s first citizen as pouring in his warm wishes,

“Best wishes to Rashtrapati Ji on his birthday. India has benefitted greatly from his wisdom and perspectives on various subjects. He has connected wonderfully with every section of our society. I pray for his long and healthy life. @rashtrapatibhvn”, PM Modi tweeted.

Jagat Prakash Nadda, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare also greeted President Kovind as saying, “Warm birthday greetings to the President of India Hon’ble Ram Nath Kovind Ji. I pray for your good health and prosperity”.

In his birthday wishing message, the union home minister Rajnath Singh said that he is widely respected for his simplicity, clarity of thought and action and his concern for the poor and marginalized.

President Kovind became the first Indian president to carry out three consecutive state visits to Africa, according to the Rashtrapati Bhavan. He has also took tour toThailand, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, Germany, Switzerland, France, the United Kingdom and the United States in his tenure as a Member of Parliament.
