On Thursday, China reportedly renamed at least 15 places in Arunachal Pradesh. The "standardised" new names, as well as locations and a map, were revealed on Thursday. China's Ministry of Civil Affairs issued the declaration only days before the new border law was set to take effect.

It's worth noting that Arunachal Pradesh is referred to as Zangnan or South Tibet on Chinese maps. Over the years, China has claimed Arunachal Pradesh as South Tibet, which the External Affairs Ministry has categorically denied, stating that the state is a "inseparable part of India."

Eight residential locations, four mountains, two rivers, and one mountain pass were among the 15 sites selected on Thursday.According to reports, the eight towns on the list were Sengkezong and Daglungzong in Shannan prefecture's Cona county, Mani'gang, Duding, and Migpain in Nyingchi's Medog county, Goling, Damba in Nyingchi's Zayu county, and Mejag in Shannan's Lhunze county; the mountains were Wamo Ri, Deu Ri, Lhunzhub Ri, and Kum
