15 athletes from this year’s Khelo India Youth Games fail dope test

The biggest case of doping has come up in the Khelo India Youth Games, which has been included in the government's priority schemes. In the Khelo India Youth Games held in Guwahati from January 10 to 22, not a few but 15 players have been found positive in dope. In the first Khelo India Games held in Delhi, 11 and after that in Pune, nine players were found positive in dope. Most of these players involved in dope are gold winners and minors. NADA has imposed a temporary ban on players caught in dope for steroid, while some players have not been banned for being stuck for specifiable substances.

The most wrestlers, lifters: Among the players involved in dope are four weightlifters, four wrestlers (wrestling), three in kabaddi and the rest in athletics, football, volleyball and boxing. Sample anabolic steroid has been found for most players. Some players have asked for a B sample test, but due to the lockdown, their tests have not been done.

The biggest doping case ever in these games: 346 dope samples were taken by Nada in these games, which were sent to Doha (Qatar) lab for testing. Ministry of Sports and Sai's Khelo India is the flagship program. High-level training is imparted to the players who have shown the best performance in these sports with a stipend of Rs. 50 thousand per month from the government. Only after the lockdown opens, these players will get a chance to appear before the hearing panel of NADA to prove their innocence.
