Ankara: Due to the tremors of the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria, more than 15,000 people have died so far. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday (8 February) acknowledged "shortcomings" in relief and rescue work. Erdogan visited one of the worst-hit areas of the earthquake as criticism mounted online. Accepting the problems in the relief work in Kahramanmaras, the epicenter of the earthquake, Erdogan said, 'Of course, there are shortcomings. It is clearly visible. It is not possible to be prepared for such a disaster.'

According to reports, thousands of buildings have collapsed due to the earthquake and an unknown number of people are still trapped in the debris. The severe cold has also hampered the relief work. People are helplessly asking for help, but they are not getting help. Semir Koban, a kindergarten teacher in Hatay, Turkey, said, 'My nephew, my sister-in-law, and my sister-in-law's sister are buried in the rubble. We are not able to reach them. We are trying to talk to them, but they are not responding... We are waiting for help. Now 48 hours have passed.

At the same time, even after 3 days of the 7.8 magnitude earthquake, the rescue team kept trying to get the survivors out of the debris. This earthquake is one of the deadliest earthquakes of this century. According to the report, Twitter was also not working on the Turkish mobile network.
