On Monday, police said, a 16-year-old student of Class 10th allegedly committed suicide in Ughaiti area after failing in the Uttar Pradesh Board examination.
According to them, Jitendra hanged himself from a tree in Khushalpur village on Sunday after getting to know the result of the examination on his mobile.
The family members told police that they had consoled Jitendra but he went out of the house, saying he was going to meet his friends.
The body has been sent for postmortem.
