The story of Yogini Ekadashi fast - According to a story of Yogini Ekadashi described in Padmapuran, King Kubera of Alkapuri city of heaven was a devotee of Lord Shiva. He used to worship Lord Shiva with full heart every day. A gardener named Hem used to bring flowers of worship to him. One day, Hem fell into the bliss of being with his beautiful wife Vishalakshi due to falling in love. Due to this, he could not deliver flowers to the king on time. Due to this, the angry King Kuber sends his soldiers to Hem Mali. The soldiers return from Hem's house and tell the king the whole thing. Due to this, King Kubera became very angry and cursed Hem. He will go on earth after suffering from leprosy. After wandering on the earth for many years, one day Hem met saint Markandeya. When the sage asked Hem the reason for his sadness, he told the whole thing. Hearing this, Markandeya advised him to observe Yogini Ekadashi fast. Hem did this and with full devotion, he fasted for Yogini Ekadashi. Later, due to this fast, Hem returned to his old form and started to live healthily with his wife, being completely healthy.
