Poisonous liquor again wreaks havoc in Bihar, 17 killed so far

Patna: Bihar has once again witnessed the havoc of spurious liquor. The number of deaths due to the consumption of poisonous liquor is increasing here. So far, 17 people have lost their lives. Out of these, 8 people died in Bhagalpur, 6 in Banka and 3 in Madhepura under suspicious circumstances after consuming liquor. One man's eyesight was also gone. Some are still in the hospital.

In the case of Sahebganj in Bhagalpur, the kin of the deceased are blaming spurious liquor as the cause of death, while in the case of Madhepura, the family members and the police are shying away from saying anything. The last rites of the three bodies were also performed here at night. No one was postmortemed. The deceased have been identified as Vinod Rai, Sandeep Yadav, Nilesh Kumar and Mithun Kumar in Bhagalpur. They were all from the same village. Due to drinking poisonous alcohol, the eye of a man named Abhishek Kumar has lost his eyesight. He is undergoing treatment at Mayaganj Hospital.   

Apart from this, four persons have also died under suspicious circumstances at Narayanpur in Navgachhia in Bhagalpur. Family members say that there was a sudden pain in the stomach and he died while being taken to the hospital. The deceased include Govind Sah, teacher Manish Dev Kumar, Sintu alias Aniket and Ras Bihari. On the other hand, Neeraj Nishant Singh alias Boua (40), son of Nagendra Singh, Paroki Singh (32), son of Nagendra Singh and Sanjeev Ramani (25), resident of Ward 2 of Digghi Panchayat adjoining Murliganj block headquarters in Madhepura, have lost their lives. Paroki Singh died on Friday.
