17-Year-Old Student Allegedly Commits Suicide After Phone Dispute in Uttarakhand

Dehradun: In Kichha, Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand, a tragic incident occurred involving a 10th-grade student who allegedly took her own life after a dispute with her mother over her phone. The 17-year-old girl was found hanging in her room early on Saturday morning.

According to reports, the girl, who resided with her family in the Lalpur area of Kichha, was speaking on her phone late at night when her mother intervened and took the phone away around 2:30 a.m. Following this, the girl became upset and locked herself in her room. Despite the mother's efforts to open the door, she was unable to gain access.

In a state of urgency, the mother contacted her sister and son, and together they managed to break open the door. Upon entering the room, they discovered the girl hanging from a ceiling fan with a bedsheet tied around her neck. Despite their attempts to rescue her, the girl was already deceased.

The police were notified and arrived at the scene, taking the body into custody and preparing it for a postmortem examination. The family is devastated by the incident, and there is a sense of chaos and mourning among them.
